ASUS ROG G21

Design

The Asus ROG Strix G21 has incorporated a few visual and functional tricks in its design. The sharp-angled, irregular shape of the G21, coupled with a two-toned surface shine, the otherwise minimalistic design boasts a dash of sophistication and personality, with sharp, pointy edges abound, so users may want to exercise caution when reaching for the corners, or areas near them, such as the power button. The G21 certainly nails the gamer aesthetic. There are two asymmetric lights on the front that uses ASUS’ Aura lighting technology, so it’ll sync with any peripheral or accessory that uses the same standard. The shorter side of the system has ROG’s trademark eye logo on it and is a hard plastic cover, while the other side has a textured, rubberized cover that can be folded to reveal the internals.

Features

The G21 was designed to be compact and comparatively lighter than most of its pre-built contemporaries, weighing in at 8.3kg. With a height of around 36cm at its tallest, a width of almost 13cm and a length of 37cm, it sits neatly on your desk without taking too much space.

Opening the patented magnetically-secured side cover increases airflow into the system for better cooling, and triggers internal sensors to boost CPU and GPU performance by a certain percentage respectively. The sensors also activate integrated Aura lighting effects. It also kicks the fans up a notch to provide the best thermal solution possible.

Interface

I/O ports on both the front and back panels are equipped with one USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type C, two USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-A, and a solo two-in-one-audio port in the front, followed by the additional rear boost of a three-in-one audio jack, two USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-A, four USB 3.1 (Gen 1) Type-A, two DC input jacks, one S/PDIF, and one RJ45 LAN port, there are plenty of file transfer options to go around, and more than enough room to hook up to external monitors.

Conclusion:

The Asus ROG Strix G21 is a pre-built gaming machine with excellent performance as it is embedded with the newest component architecture nowadays. Another thing is the aesthetics, every detail is focused on the futuristic gamer themed along with an RGB lighting strip that can be customized. Definitely the G21 is best for people who want a gaming unit but don’t have time or knowledge to build one.
